What a day in the books! I must say I am SOOO glad its over. 5th place overall finish, of course nobody WANTS to go into a race to finish 5th and I made some mistakes in the main but all things considered I can't complain. The competition for the women was harder than Australia with the addition of the Frenchies and ole Shizzy add to that difficulties with the track and I will take those 5th place points to give ma a little breathing room on the USA Olympic points board. Not confirmed yet, but it should give me a 13 point lead. Shanaze won, Le Corguille 2nd and Chausson 3rd.
TB, Meadows, JRog, JRich, Bubs, NLong all rode great today in TT but got stuck in their 1/8 round motos. Amanda didn't make it out of the 1/4 round motos but Lil Sush made it all the way to her semi with a fractured thumb. Props to her. I honestly didnt think dR was going to make it out of 1/8s after a crash and a 5th but Mr. Consistent pulled it off and brought home a HUGE win. KB officially can say now that he has locked first place points slot for the games with his 4th place finish in the main. Personally my money was on Cisar but he got hung up in his semi along with 365, Foxy and Hermie who were both killing it all day as well. 4 Americans in one semi (those 3+KB) was hard enough... add in Prokop and a Latvian robot and well, definitely not easy.
Latvian robot holeshotted the main but Aussie sensation Jared Graves quickly took over the lead. dR set him up going into the 2nd corner and the rest is history. The DON now has 2 supercross wins under his belt, I could be wrong but I believe he is the only Elite man to do that this year.
My Formula teammate Jonathan Suarez rode fast to a 6th place finish in the main event and I have to give another round of props out to Kris Fox who with his performance today (unofficially) landed that unclaimed 8th rider slot for the Mens Olympic Trials event next month.
