Raced a Euro round yesterday for the fun of it. We (Amanda, Cesar, Sutty) rolled in to Franfkurt Friday night, woke up Saturday got 4 practice laps and it was time to shred. The track was typical euro style with steep lips, lots of jumps, and gravel on the track. With only 4 practice laps we had to work out most of the track in Motos, but by the time I hit my semi I was getting it down.
Ceez was killin Elite men. They had 16, yes 16 groups! And jet lagged or not he was impressing everyone with his power and skill. I wasn't feeling to hot myself but made it into my main and had some good pull down the second straight passing for 3rd and looking for 2nd going into the corner but Willy didnt jump the steep step up and I landed right on her and thankfully didnt crash either one of us. After that ball up I dropped back to 5th but overall can't complain since it was just a training race and I was rollin on Jet lag from New York to Cali to Germany in 48hrs. Letitia passed Chausson at the line and Despaux passed Kanis for the 3rd...yep all about that last straight pull.
Amanda and Ceez made it into their Semis but had some tough luck into the final. My favorite race of the day came from Arnaud Duboise in 1/4's who went from 5th to 2nd on the super tech 3rd straight keeping his wheel up over 3 rollers and a table before jumping off the table and up over the step up. Kind of hard to explain but it was ridiculous that he did that at full speed. He ended up with a 4th in Elite Men. Sifiso Nhapalo taking the big win.
All of us are feeling pretty rough this morning so we aren't racing and are going to head straight down to Aigle, Switzerland to spend a little time at the UCI center before heading over to Copenhagen. Should be fun!
I posted up a bunch of pics from the NBC Today show in New York. My roomie Jill to some photos of the tv to show me I was actually on it. Kind of funny but I posted them anyway.
