Finished second today overall. Definitely shouldn't be bummed about that except the part where I was winning until the last straight. I struggled all weekend with one particular section of the third straight and thats was got me today. I bonked it and Sarah Walker pulled me executing a text book high low in the last corner and we dragged the last straight, I bonked manualing again under pressure and she passed me for the win. Congrats to her, she had an awesome weekend.
The USA women came out in full force with three of us making the final. Jill and Amanda finshed 5th and 7th I think which helps our country points a lot. The individual Olympic ranking puts me back on the top with a whole 1 point on Jill. We are going to battle to the end for sure for that top slot but its good for us to be this competetive, it keeps us pushing eachother.
In Elite men David Herman pulled the upset of the year with a HUGE WIN! The kid totally killed it today in the main passing Matisons for first on the second straight and taking off. He just earned himself a spot on the funded team and a nice check from USA cycling! Mikey, dR, Cisar, and Bubs all got eliminated in the semi which was disappointing. Its crazy how many fast guys there are in Elite Men now. Jarrett Kolich and Joey Bradford both took hard crashes today, hopefully they are alright.
We are headed home in the morning, have a nice full day of traveling ahead of us. Rad.
