Finished up the USAC Nat Championships today in DeSoto, Tx. Those of us that have been training at the OTC had a difficult time adjusting back to the flat hill, small jumps, and ABA cadence during practice but managed to hold our own when it came down to business.
With Jill and I separated by just 1point in the Olympic chase coming in, it was an important race for the both of us. I felt great during motos and won my rack while she won hers until we finally met up for the main. I must have anticipated the random or was just so fast on the reaction I tapped the gate just a hair while she had the gate of her life and holeshotted me to the corner.
In all it was a solid matchup between the two of us, she made no mistakes leaving me no opportunity to pass so congrats to the roomie...pull you next race!!
KB officially clinched his Olympic bid with the win in Elite men, dR 2nd and Danny C third. Alan Hudson surprised everyone by making the Elite main and it was a heartbreak for David Herman who was killing it all day until he slid out leading his semi.
Jr Men proved Denzel unstoppable as he was hit multiple times out of the gate and just full on powered past the pack taking the lead and then some. Im kind of sad I wont be there to see his AA debut tomorrow morning.
Its back to Chula in the morning to get some solid days in on the ramp before we leave for Australia on Saturday.
Im out!
