Day two finally over, its 12:40am and I am still trying to get back to all my messages--no sign of sleep anytime soon.
I have to say today went significantly better than yesterday. I was lucky in my motos due to one of the Chinese holeshotters crashing out yesterday (and unable to ride today) so I didn’t have to try first two rounds. Third round I charged for the ever important lane position in the stacked semi, took the ace in it, but missed out on top lane pick in the main to Sammy who won the other semi and beat my time by something like .01 sec. Lane choice is pretty important now-a-day and we all stacked up on the inside so the gate start was pretty important, I got out clean, charged, and never looked back coming in for my first UCI win of the season. Sammy landed a 2nd for team Canada and my roommate/USA team competitor/accountabilabuddy, Jill, pulled her infamous sneak attack in the last corner to score the podium third.
In Elite men KB proved that he deserves that top slot on the Olympic team by winning yet again. dR took the second and ABA sensation Danny C pulled the big 3rd. Young guns David Herman and Nic Long beat out 39 other Elite riders to make the main event. I am continually impressed with Nic Long, and David?? Well no surprise there, the kids skinny legs have always had pull
My homie Logan Collins put an end to Denzel Steins winning streak and got a big Junior win. Special thanks to him and his family for sponsoring me some shade and fluid for the weekend. The Nashville crew is pretty great.
Its 1am now and I have 3 hours til we leave for the airport. I suppose this blog could have waited until tomorrow, but what can I say? I am still a little excited from the win and probably wouldn’t have slept anyway.
