Back in Chula, back to no-sun SoCal rain. Pretty lame this el nino stuff. Hopefully the weather clears up soon so we can get back on the track. It is nice to be back in the states and back on my own routine, there is always something so comforting about coming home.
MY Flight back was a little interesting. I had a layover in Frankfurt, Germany which wasn't all that exciting until a girl in an OU sweatshirt walks up to me and asks me if I know her. After the confusion of the question subsided she reminded me that we had met at the US Olympic Ambassador conference in LA last December. Her name was Katie Mocco and she was a Judo champ and on her way back from training in Hungry. We ended up sitting by eachother on the flight and it made the 8 hours with no movies a little less painful. I learned all about Judo and filled her in on a bit of BMX. One of the things I love about training for the Olympics is the network of people in different sports. There is something about being an Olympic hopeful that gives us some sort bond, like an understanding of eachother and the sacrifices we are making, and it doesn't matter what sport you play there is always a cool connection. Being here at the center has taught me A LOT about other sports, and I think its RAD.
I guess its time to see if we can ride today. Pray to the rain gods to stop dancing.
