Just rolled in from my sweet 12 1/2 hr drive from Salt Lake. It took me 2+ hrs longer than it should have thanks to a semi roll in Vegas and a 16 car crunch outside Lucerne Valley. Apparently Southern California doesn't know how to drive in the rain because it was the craziest madness on 4 wheels I have ever seen.
UCI race on Friday went ok for me. I did the dumbest thing I could have possibly done last Tuesday and pulled brake down the start ramp because of the gusting cross winds and endo-ed off the lip of the first jump for a front endo collision and a blown up hip. I flew to Phoenix as planned but wasn't sure I could even ride with the swelling and pain in my hip limiting my range of motion and ability to torque down on my cranks. Lucky for me, 3 solid days of therapy did some magic and I was able to ride at about 70% for the UCI race. As usual we landed 1 super stacked moto and 1 cake moto for the Elite Women. I of course didnt catch the break and got the stacked moto which meant I had to pull out more than I had planned for motos, but came away with the win all 3 laps.
In the main I got "beasted" by my teammate out of the gate and had to work to come from behind for the third place spot by a mere .002sec. Thanks to the timing system they figured that one out between Jill and I, it was so close they probably would have flipped a coin. Congrats to Alise for the win.
KB dominated as usual, but if you are reading this you probably already knew that, whats new? Stumpy looked on point, I think its safe to say he is 100% recovered right now and hungry for more...
I'm wrecked from the drive so im out.
