I'm gettin ready to call it a night. Today was a fun-filled day of sitting, mixed with about an hour total of practice time. I always dislike the format of this race e.g. I have to fly out on or right after Christmas (and I REALLY like Christmas) to have two practice sessions 7 hours apart followed by another entire day of sitting while the amatures race the Presidents cup. The good news is this year we will be racing tomorrow night instead of the 28th so I only have to kill time until 5pm or so tomorrow and Friday will be about the same...but still...lots of sitting around.
The track is pretty decent, it looks like Ritz is going for a more European style first straight with some peaky jumps which I like. I just wish there were some bigger jumps on the rest of the track, but aparently it was difficult to find enough dry dirt.
The usual crew is here. It's good to see Sammy back from Switzerland, we always get in a good laugh or two-- she's rad. I saw Matison and Stromberg here from Europe as well as Prokop so the Elite mens class is going to be pretty stacked. Speaking of which... there are some pretty gross mustaches rollin around the Elite men, I have to admit its kind of funny. Missing from the girls scene so far is Kintner, who knows maybe she will roll in tomorrow for a 10min practice session before the gate drops...
Alright, I am going to settle in to watch some TV in an attempt to stay awake as long as possible so I can sleep in tomorrow.
Check out the live go211 webcast tomorrow night.
